Pashupatinath Temple
One of the holiest Hindu temples in the world, dedicated to Lord Shiva as Pashupati (Lord of Animals). The complex sprawls along the Bagmati River with its main pagoda-style temple featuring a golden spire.
Historical Background
The temple's existence dates back to at least 400 CE, though the current structure was built in the 17th century. It has been a site of continuous worship for over 1,600 years.

Two-tiered pagoda-style temple with gilt copper roof and four silver-plated doors. Built in traditional Newari architectural style with intricate wood carvings.
