The best-preserved medieval city in Nepal, Bhaktapur's Durbar Square is the largest and most complete of the three valley squares. Dominated by the 55-Window Palace and the towering Nyatapola Temple.

Bhaktapur (City of Devotees) was founded in the 12th century and became an independent kingdom in the 15th century.
